If you're one of those who think our defeat isn't inevitable, fine. Treat it as a hypothetical. If the U.S. were to lose in Iraq, what lessons would you draw from that?

I wouldn't draw any lessons that I didn't already know.. That the entire thing was based on a pile of crap, and will (and has already started) coming back to bite us 10 fold. Not only in our international relations and the global opinion of the USA, but financially as well.

Beg Pardon Haire... we went through Saddam's army like crap through a goose, took Baghdad in DAYS.... We WON..get over it. As soon as we train enough new and improved Iraqi street cops and regular army that they have some semblance of a chance of keeping the centuries old tribal religious factions from warring against each other we be GONE... Go take some drugs...

I take it, you are looking and hoping for our defeat. Your question is not a hypothetical to a Liberal. Lots of hope built into your question for a Liberal. Even to the point of wanting a defeat for America, just so you can blame President Bush.

The only way we can lose in Iraq is if we quit. We are the stronger power. I do not deal in these kinds of hypotheticals.

I know all that I need to already.

When we fight war, we need to fight to win.
We need a President who communicates well. This would allow good expectations to be set.
We need to restrict freedom of the press during war. Allowing the body count to be plastered on the tv everyday is the wrong approach.

To let our military fight a war, instead of making it political. Look what happened to Vietnam, the politicians put their hands in the mess and ruined it. It doesnt matter if a Rep or Dem is in the Oval Office, we must let the military fight the wars.....
