I came out to my friends first, starting with the closest and moving towards the not-so-close. Then I worked on my family once I had started to accept myself. All of my friends were very accepting and helped me love myself for who I was.

Well i had a "friend" staying over and for some odd reason my step mom was walking out side in the middle of the night, and i went to school the next day and come home with my lock takin' off my door and my dad says, " I don't really care about what happened, but damn child you didn't have to come out that way!" but he did give me the silent treatment for a few days after that. But what i want to know is why my step mom was outside at that time of night and how long did she freaking stand there.

I went out to the barn one night when my Dad was tending the livestock and told him I wanted to talk. He asked me to help clean stalls and we started to talk. I told him I had met someone and wanted to pursue it. He shook his head and I continued. I said it wasn't what he expected, it was a guy. He stopped, leaned against his shovel and told me that if I was going to do this to be the best person I could be. He said don't be a s l u t, no one wants to settle down with one of those. He asked me if I was sure and I said I think I am. Then he went back to work and said dont make a mess out of things like your older brothers did and not to settle. You were born to stand out and blah blah blah, schmultzy stuff. Then he said I'd better bring him over right quick so he could size him up. Damn, I miss my Dad.

3 years after meeting my partner to be at work,
we decided to purchase a house and live together.
I told my mother and she said that she had always hoped for grandchildren but that "Gwenneth is a lovely person, treat her kindly and be happy".
She has g/children now through my brother and his wife.
Kind regards, Rose P.

When I got caught, I was having phone sex with my girlfriend. It was hilarious! One night, my grandpa couldn't sleep, he tried logging onto the internet, and lo and behold, caught my connection. About 5 minutes later I had to tell him my secret. Boy was I embarrassed.
When you come out, don't be afraid to stand up for yourself. If your mom caught you, it may be a shock to her and, you cannot JUSTIFY who you are. If it is something you want to persue, just let it flow, she may think its only temporary. If you want to be that for the rest of your life, I would just try talking to her about it.
The best way is to communicate. Most mothers don't want their daughters growing up to be lesbians. My girlfriend is bi, and its hard for her mother to accept her, even though my girlfriend has a gay brother as well, who she has accepted just fine.
Its hard, and you will have to live with rejectment, but really, stick up for yourself and just know that whatever happens, happens, but let them know, never to stop loving you as their daughter, no matter what you decide. Good Luck! and..Welcome to the club..lol

I haven't come out yet to anybody. I dunno if my parents would like it at all and I don't really have any gay friends where I live. I don't think there are any gay kids at my school either.

Me: "So, Mom."

Mom: "Yes?"

Me: "I'm gay. How do you feel about that?"

Mom: "..... Well, I guess I feel a little like Cher."
