Check your healthcare policy, because vasectomy is covered by many healthcare schemes, or there may be a very small co-pay payment.

If you are short of cash, and your healthcare doesn't over it, then there are some organisations that will help. Try contacting planned parenthood for schemes in your area.

As regards the first answer, you should know that dontfixit.org exists primarily to sell the site owners 2 self published books. The site owner is also an advocate of natural family planning (not using contrateption on religious grounds). Apart from the religious aspect of the site, most of the information has been taken completely out of context, re-written to suit the book's premise or simply made up in some instances hoping that nobody will ever check up on what is quoted as fact.

Well, someone has. To compare what dontfixit quotes as fact, and the REAL fact, visit. http://www.dontfixit.info

Depends. Judging by your avatar, you are a female. It could be rather costly! Just joking!

But I would say the average cost is about 600 bucks, from soup to "nuts"

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND you (He) visit this site BEFORE having the procedure done.

There is some good information regarding real problems that arrise from post vasectomy surgery. I can attest to some of those problems, which include chronic pain in the lower abdomen and testicles afterward.

I had my procedure about 5 months ago, and the pain does seem to be diminishing, or.. I am getting used to it!

At least be an informed patient. This site will give you valuable information to the contrary of the main-stream.

Good luck in your decision...

Cool, some IDIOT gave me a thumbs down. I repeat must be a real idiot, since the information is valid.

I'm a nurse. Every clinic is different. However I would have it done at a clinic verses a hospital it's cheaper. We do them all the time in our clinic and the patient goes home in less than an hour. Call around in your area and also ask for payment plan options.

Vasectomy,IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.

My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

Varies by doctor and hospital. Best thing to do is call around. Don't forget that you have to pay for the initial consultation and a follow up as well.
