I am awaiting several important articles of mail ( as I am sure most of us are after the long holiday). We normally get our mail around noon, it is 5:30 pm and no one in our district/route has gotten thiers yet. how late is it before the mailman call it quits for the day? This is a serious question, please.

At what time of day is my mail delivery considered late?
We have no set delivery times, because the volume of mail fluctuates daily delivery times are not guaranteed. All deliveries should be made by 5 p.m. (unless there are unusual circumstances). We do not have the ability to find out when a mailperson will arrive at a specific location.

Could be a delivery person is out sick today and someone needs to cover....or just an overload of mail because of the very long holiday...I would say there is still a chance 6pm or 7pm. I don't know where you are, but can you call the post office? Usually they will ask for your address and can maybe tell you if your postman is still on his route.

They're scheduled until 5pm, but depending on conditions you could get it as late as 6 or 7pm. The carrier's have to finish their route every day and if there is bad weather or a holiday or something else slows them down they have to stick with it until the whole route is finished.

they call it quits when the route is delivered
if a carrier got sick - the supervisor will have another one or two take the remainder of the route after their routes are complete
I have had mail get there after 5:30 - and the guy was running!

Avoid it!!! His statement on not being able to come over until the check clears your bank sounds fishy! Also, he is asking for information he does not need as a customer. He does not need your home address! He is a scammer!! A criminal. Also with the info he is asking for, he can steal your identity. It may become bank fraud if you were to accept and cash it. Does he give you his name, address, or phone number? And he claims to have just gotten married. Who is hiring house cleaners on their honymoon?? I advise you to avoid it.
