2-3 cm 39 weeks membranes stripped yesterday. i was feeling light period cramps yesterday and today they are getting stronger but i can still handle them. i do have pain in my back more and when i walk it feels like my back is about to fall off my shoulders. this is my second pregnancy and totally diff from the first one... how many cm do you have to be for them just to keep you there? and how fast do you dilate? if i just was seen by my doct yesterday would it be a waste of time to go in today for about 45 min - and hour and get checked to see if i dilated anymore?

You might be having Braxton Hicks but I suggest you go to the Hospital or call your Doctor immediately...I was sent back home twice and the 3rd time one of the Nurse even made a face and made a stupid little comment but guess what my water broke when they gave me my room

it depends, I have my baby in an 1 hr to 1 1/2 hrs. The was my 2 and I really didn't feel the pain. I was completely dilated when they broke my water. But I had to have a shot so I didn't bleed to death. Thank goodness, I was at the hospital bec I probably had the baby in the car. I think it depends, if your water break go straight there but I think it's 4-5 cm

It wont hurt to go if you are concerned (or excited!!!). Its not the amount of dialtion its your contractions that determine whether in labor. I was 2cm dialted with my son when my water broke and I went to the hospital. Hope this helps. Congrats!!!!!!!!

The longer you can stay home, the better. You'll be more comfortable at home, you can eat and drink as you want, move around as you want, etc. The less checking they do the better as it can introduce bacteria.
