We have a wireless network, but there is no coverage in certain parts of the building. We have BT Broadband, with a BT voyager modem & router. I thought it was possible to get a receiver/repeater (I don't know if they exist or what they are called) and put them in certain parts of the builing to expand the network. Does this exist?
Is this a good idea? and
Where can I buy such a thing?
Thanks a lot!

Yah, Reapter does exist! You can check the link below for sample of repeaters

Use a repeater and place it under the coverage area but be sure to put it a little farther from your existing router or else it will be useless. On how to intstall it..just read the manual of your selected repeater. Goodluck!

There is such a thing - its called a wirless access point

You can do this two ways - connect as many access points to your existing cat5 network around your building - or connect all the access points to each other - for the latter you will need an access point that supports bridging

You need a higher output transmitter, however to use one you need a radio broadcast license if it is over 100 milliwatt, which isnt a lot, hence the reason most offices still use wired networks.

What you are looking for is a range extender (otherwise known as a repeater). I prefer d-link myself, but others like linksys or netgear also.

Look at the following links for the products I suggest.
