Punk:
Anti-Flag

Screamo:
From First To Last

Goth/punk-ish:
Aiden (highly recommended)

Post-hardcore:
Thrice (highly recommended)

Nu metal/alternative metal:
Mudvayne

Also try:
Sky Eats Airplane (I think they are unsigned you might have to go to their page on purevolume to find their stuff)
Eighteen Visions
System Of A Down
Trivium
AFI (I prefer their old stuff, from before Decemberunderground and Sing The Sorrow [although that album had two or three good songs on it] but you might like their new stuff so have a listen)

Although I haven't listened to them yet, I've heard good things about:
Chiodos
Saosin

Yeah, some of 'em. The Talking Heads are cool, and so's Iggy Pop. The Cure (didn't know they did a cover of Purple Haze, but now I gotta check it out), Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, The Butthole Surfers (sometimes, and hehe), The Dead 60s (I'm not REALLY into them, but they're kinda interesting, Billy Idol, Dandy Warhols (again, occasionally) and Seal (so-so)... Ok- checked out the Cure's cover of Purple Haze, and gotta say, I like the original better. Hot Hot Hot is and A Forest are, in my opinion, The Cure's two best songs... I think it's cool that they REALLY put their own spin on the song (Purple Haze) though...

I like Urban Waste. They are an old punk band from New Jersey. But the singer's vocals are amazing. He sounds as if his vocal chords are being shredded in a blender.

Check out the songs: "Wasted Life, Skank, and Societal Waste"
