I left my original belly button piece in for 6 months before switching the jewel piece out.
Also, make sure you clean your piercing with warm seasalt water regularly like 2 times a day.

Why didn't you ask the person who person who pierced your belly button?But I suggest a month or two or till you feel the area around it,doesn't feel tender anymore.

the person who pierced your belly button should have told you...but i think about six weeks will do

about 6 months is correct.always turn it everday and also warm oil and put it with your finger it make it heal faster.and keep it dry after taking a shower.I had mine pierce for about 3yrs now and i can take it off for long long time and it still goes in freely
