It really depends on your working environment...if you have a windy or drafty environment vs. being in a shop with control of all conditions...but typically 35 to 45 cubic feet per hour (CFH) is a general guideline to follow. Depends. I have had to set mine at 30+lbs. when welding outside in the wind or setting in front of fan and half that or less when welding inside.

Are you aware they make flux core wire that requires no gas ?? Only solid wire needs gas
