Since tone quality is a personal thing you could educate you ears!
There are classes in wine tasting; too bad there aren't classes that teach us what we like in sound and tone quality, and how to get it.

only thing i know of is either a Tuner (for determining pitch) or a Decibel meter (for determining volume level) , Too bad there really isn't a magic "Tone Quality" box that alerts for bad notes, THAT would cut out at least 80% of the junk heard on radio today. LOL!
