I am a prep who is also like trendy chic. but, I like being a prep. So today @ school, this emo girl comes up to me and says, " i've been watching you and just to tell you prep is out". I was like " are you a stalker?" and she walked away. Is it true that prep is out. I dont know. All my friends are telling me that she just said that cuz shes jealous of my popularity. It doesnt scare me and doesnt pose as a threat or anything but I would like to knnow.

dont worry about it...the girl was probably just some freak. prep is always going to be in, and your friends are right...she probably is jealous, and knows she cant pull off a prep image.

Prep will neither be in nor out. Ever. It's like the hair on your body: always there, and will never leave. It's been around for so long and been made fun of so much that "prep" will never be taken completely seriously, unless by other preps. However, "prep" is usually associated with economically-advantaged classes of families and people, so its ostracism isn't complete. Trendy chic is another thing. Trendy chic is good. Anyway, if by prep you mean the plaid and peacoats that were fashionable this fall, those were never prep to begin with. And since when do emos care about the fashion industry?

It doesn't really matter. I'm not a huge fan of prep because the preps at my school are mostly fakes. But I love the clothing style =) The only thing I won't do is pop my collar. Otherwise, it's cool. And an emo girl told you it's out? You really think an emo would pay attention to styles? (No offense to emos, I have a great emo friend.) Anyways, don't change your style if you really like prep. Then you'd just be faking like the kids at my school. And it's better to be supposedly out of style then a fake. Good luck =)

The emo girl just made you feel insecure and I bet that was her objective from the start. Take it from me and stop caring so much about popularity. You must have low self esteem behind the plastic image you try to uphold. It won't do you any good in the future. But to answer your question: Look at pop culture nowadays. What's hot right now? What's playing on the top 40 radio shows? Not preppy music, I assure you. Its either hip hopish like eminem's "Smack that" or altern rock or punkish like My chemical romance or Snow Patrol. So, yes, prep is "like so out". Hope you feel better about yourself after this! :0)

If there is one thing I hate it would be people telling others that they are "popular."
Just to let you know there is no such thing. And its actually REALLY pathetic to call yourself popular or act better than any one else at all!
So I am actually really sure that that emo girl isnt jealous of you. But to answer your question preppy isnt out. its a style personality. so when you wear it you have to have the personality. if there are a ton of depressed ppl where you live then it might be that its becoming a fad near you. But if you are preppy then its your style and HAPPY style will NEVER go out of style!

Instead of being a prep why don't you try being yourself. Most preps are SO fake and have no clue what they are doing to themselvs or the people around them. Be real for once in your life

No,hun.Just like chic,prep is not out.And it will never be out for YOU, because thats what You are.The main point about being fashionable is not trying to go in foot with fashion,but making your own statements.If YOU are a prep, then its NOT out.And if some girl wants to just come up and ruin your day,smile.You know what you are and wat ur comfortable with being.And thats always fashionable.

Hon, only the preps think the preps are cool. Everyone else hates them. It's been that way since public schools first opened, and will always be that way... That this goth babe thinks her fashion is more "in" than yours is completely beside the point. Put your mom's Visa card away, and start concentrating on your priorities in life. Your choice of fashion is not something to put in your top ten...

prep is not out...and it is one of the styles that will not go out soon because it involves wearing very classic and plain pieces with cute accessories.....dont listen to the creepy emo stalker girl get to you
