You cannot tell if you are dilating... the RN or doctor must do a vaginal exam to measure for this. If your water has broken and labor has begun (if you aren't sure if it is true labor or Braxton Hicks contractions, get up and walk around...if it is true labor the contractions will get worse, not stay the same or get better).
I would advise you to go to the hospital if you believe you are in labor. It is not recommended to wait until your contractions are a certain length of time apart before going... a doctor should evaluate you to see how your labor is progressing and ensure there are no complications (prolapsed cord, prolonged labor which increases the risk of the infant acquiring an inutero infection which can be fatal, fetal distress, etc). At the very least you should call your OB/Gyn and see what they would advise you to do.

Wait for contractions and/or your water breaking. Unfortunately dilation is not a good indicator for when you go into labor, just how much farther you have to dilate to get that little one out! How overdue are you? If you had your membranes scraped it won't be long now. Have sex with hubby or DH preferably in the evening and when he's done don't let sperm out, it will thin your membranes more and your water will break which should bring on contractions. Congrats on your new one who should be here anytime now!

No; you can't feel your cervix dilating. It requires a physical examination by the OB or midwife. If your baby has "dropped", also called lightening, it just means you're getting closer to going into labor. Cramping can also be a sign of labor, especially if it becomes regular and stronger over time. However, cramping can mean lots of other things as well. Depends on what trimester you're in. Good luck!

Everyones different.I dont think typically within the first three
centimeters you don'tNo it does not mean your dialating because the baby dropped down in position a bit.But you are suppost to.
Don't let them them give you any dialation stimulants or have arm
drip bags .Especially if it;s your first pregnancy. Before neccessary. It may caiuse complication and unessarry cesearaen

If you loose the mucus plug or have light spotting it can mean dilation.

I'm not really sure that someone can tell when they are dialating? I have had a child, but don't recall knowing if I was dialating or not.
