Why is it that when rich tv broadcasters make predictions, the religous people sucked into their programs believe them 100%, but when a normal, everyday person or someone claiming to be a psychic says they have had some sort of vision or has spoken with God their labled a psycho, skitzo, pagan, witch, satanist, etc.?

How come Pat Robertson can have a converstation with God and it's ok, but if I or anyone else were to say, "God told me of great disasters to come to the US this year." we would get locked up in the loony ben?

Also, why is Pat Robertson able to say this and not be called a blasphemer because he is now calling himself a prophet? Christains look down upon psychics, but isn't this just the same? Most Christains think Nostradamus is a nut job because of his book of predictions, but isn't the Bible along the same lines? Nostradamus seems to have been right at least 50% of the time, but any prophet or psychic can be right 50% of the time... as most are.

believe there are people who see or predict things, but I do not think any one person is held so high that they alone can speak to God and get an audiable or visual answer back. Am I not worthy enough? Are you?

Although I am a sinner, I was raised a Christain and I do very much believe in God and respect all religions. All I can say is that if he is wrong, remember, "Beware of false prophets. They come to you disguised as sheep, but in their hearts they are vicious wolves." Matthew 7:15

If "Bob Patterson" made that prediction, nobody would give it the time of day. Unfortunately, because his name is "The Reverend Pat Robertson", some people think he has a direct connection to God and therefore every thing he says must be true.

I think if you look at Pat's track record on predictions, it's not very accurate. Too bad the newspapers keep printing his blathering, mistaking it for things actually newsworthy.

A true prophet must have a 100% accuracy rate.
Robertson is a false prophet - he even predicted that he would win the 1988 presidential race.

He is also an illuminati and promotes the New World Order through his plans to combine religion and government and his support of Bush.

I don't think its okay for Pat Robertson to say this. By the way he was dead wrong about last years predictions too. So I guess this means we are safe for another year.

Robertson is pretty whacky. But let's be fair, he was 100% right about one thing:

We need to get rid of the Venezualan madman, Hugo Chavez. The sooner the better!

You are hitting all of the right notes with your question and your additional information. So, I can't possibly improve upon what you wrote, except to answer your specific question, and it is this: I go with your first choice: psycho.

Why is it that people who don't like him watch and pay attention anyway?

Nostradamus is a hoot, especially if you are high on LSD or drunk. Nostradamus reads like HDTV assembly instructions.
