Goto MSNBC, They did a study on the effects of video games on a childs brain. Brain CHanges found through scans, chemical changes in the body during game play lasting up to two hours after only 20 minutes of playing or viewing violent games and movies show the physical effects which lead to the emotional violent behaviors. It's kinda like giving the kid an extreme drug that causes them to have blind rages where they don't even know or realize how bizzarre or extreme they are being.

Your best arguement would be that violent games and movies are rated for a reason and ultimately the games are not responsible for violant acts by kids it's the same lack of parenting common sense that leads parents to allow their children to play or view these games that leads children to believe they are above and can react without consequence. I mean if the parent lets them play these games where else has the parent dropped the ball on exposing their children to inappropriate stuff. So is it the video game industry or is the fact children have access to these games just a symptom of poor parenting all around.

Do parents change the radio station when news reports and other inappropriate commentary happens while taking kids to school? A parent buying grand theft auto for their nine year wouldn't.

CAN it? sure, it CAN. but if it was the ONLY, or even a deciding factor, EVERY ONE of us who has ever played a violent videogame would be acting out our aggressions on the street. certain games, like some movies and TV shows, are not intended for younger audiences. most of the time, it's the uneducated misperception of "games" as children's toys that garners the negative attention from political figures or the media, when in reality, the age of the average gamer has been estimated to be around 29.

I watched the Sopranos- I'm not robbing or wacking anyone
I watched Saw- I thought it was stupid
I played Grand Theft Auto- haven't beat a hooker with a bat

It only affects people too stupid to realize its FAKE. You should know that its wrong and that you shouln't kill. Those excuses that they shot them because in the game they just get back up are just plain dumb. You are taught about life and death at a young age so they should know how it works.

I would say partially. Playing violent video games and movies leaves a great impact on us. It very much affects everyone. Not only does it ruin our minds, but it gives us ideas to do bad things and to hurt other people.

No. It's just an excuse the liberal media likes to run with whenever something happens. Poor parenting, as was mentioned earlier, and the 'gangsta' attitude that young people like to adopt are the problem.
