There are of course a variety of opinions, but Americans often appear loud, arrogant, and ignorant about foreign cultures. The important thing is not to get offended by it; rather try to understand. Get educated- Read about American interference in foreign politics, and ask yourself how you would feel if it were your country being manipulated, your people killed, to make another country rich. And travel! Travel with humility, and with your eyes wide open. America is not the whole world.

Well, I can't tell you from experience, and from being a foreigner to america, but I can tell you what Chinese, Singaporian, Korean, Austrian, Cambodian, and Vietnamese told me. They think there's all these job opportunities and such, but to some, close to most, young, stupid koreans, americans and what they did for korea was not really helping. They hate america, yet they would not be alive without it. Luckily, there is hope for the hatred, it's called elders and respect. All the veterans and old people love what the US does, though along with most americans, disagree with george bush. The elders may save us from the hatred of the world.

American culture is a drive-through, throw away kind of culture.
That's probably because it's such a young country.
A lot of the prestigious galleries/museums, buy up and show fine European art like Da Vinci, Van Gough, Rembrandt etc., to give themselves a slice of credibility.
Hopefully this will change as America matures as a nation.

Unfortunately in many parts of the world we don't have that great an image. We are 5% of the global population using 25% of the worlds energy. We have refused organized global efforts to cut air pollutants...and just recently, disallowed any rights to access polutant emission specifics from our industries.. Hopefully, someday, we can turn our world image around.....thankfully, as a people, we are not only resourceful, but very giving.

I love it! I came to California a few years ago and it was really lovely. I loved it when people would come out in the evening to walk, skate and ride bikes along the beautiful beaches- something I cant do in rainy Britain!!

Mmmm, now go figure why pride was one of the 7 deadly sins; fortunately it's not pride it's brainwashing, I was born here, raised there but couldn't see that either till I'd been back here 10 years, that's how strong it is.

People to people - we are loved and admired. Our government is despised and our culture is overwhelming except to the ultra-conservative Muslim, they dispise us and everything we stand for..
