I'd prefer it if you found a map that shows groups of people not countries like Roman and Greek not England and France or whatever.

Repeat: map of the world DURING medieval times, not made during medieval times because those tend to be ridiculously innaccurate in my opinion.
NO SEARCHING WEBSITES. YOU THINK I HAVN'T TRIED THAT?

I would think the most famous medieval map would be the Mappa Mundi in Hereford Cathedral which was the height of scholars knowledge of the world in the 13th century.

See my link below for a copy of the map and tons of further information.

No need to get arsey Brian - we're all only trying to help you and if we all made the same mistake, then perhaps your question wasn't clear enough for us mere mortals.

and of course maps produced in the Middle Ages were inaccurate to our modern-day standards.

I'd suggest you contact Oddens (my third link below) who specialise in cartographics.

There is also a world civilisation atlas on line at the Washington State University (link 2) but i doubt whether this will be detailed enough for you.

Try www.euratlas.com/summary. This is the periodical historical atlas and shows maps every 100 years. It is a great site available in a number of languages, make sure you choose the appropriate one.
