Would have made for great entertainment for sure!
However, Jol isn't an 'Honest Joe' either; remember his defence of Zokora's blatant dive against Portsmouth, or his thinly veiled personal attacks on Parmarot during last week's clash, again with Portsmouth? Or may be it's something about Harry that bugs him.
Most managers tend to protect their players; Wenger has pushed it to the extreme, never seeing anything bad his guys did, but seeing everything bad the opposition did, and more too.
Attitudes like Psycho's to Thatcher's forearm are refreshing; but then again, that was indefensible.
I'd say that the level of sportsmanship in lower than what we'd like to have in fairy tale land, but just as you'd be happy if your boss covers up for small mistakes you might make at work, players are more willing to play for a manager who gives them some cover, and these few examples of bad sportsmanship can translate into better results in the long run. Wouldn't many fans be willing to accept the trade-off?
Wenger probably goes too far, but haven't his post-match interviews turned into jokes? Who listens to them seriously anymore? I guess that's what he wanted all the while. So, to him, bad sportsmanship is a winner, as long as it's not against his team.

Jol is a big bloke but he's out of shape, Arsene does it for a living (see Alan Pardew). Spurs shouldn't have scored a cheeky cheating goal and then Arsene wouldn't have had to putty ol' fat neck in his place!
