I'm TTC but I just don't know whats the best way to start, could somebody explain charting for me please? I'm doing that but my temps just seemed to go up and down whenever I would take them in the morning, and where could I buy some reasonably priced OPK or OPTs? I've seen a few on ebay but I need some that actually works. if anyone could help I would appreciate it, thanks. my menstruation cycle last usually about 8 days if that helps anybody, I'm trying to figure out when I ovulate, thats the easiest way that I can think of to do it, sorry if thats too much information.

I found the easiest thing was to use OPK's. You can pick them up off of eBay or if you have a $ store near by you can get some cheapie ones there that are pretty reasonable.

Temping was a PITA for me because you have to make sure that you are temping at the same time each and every day or it can skew your results.

Go and get the book Taking Charge of your Fertility or buy the software and start charting.

The book is very good at telling you what to look for in the way of signs (cervical mucus, etc.) and it is really informative and answers so many questions. The web site also has a message board community that is so helpful.

Generally, you would ovulate 14 days before the end of your cycle. That would be a normal Luteal Phase. Some women have longer and some women have shorter. I have anywhere from 31-42 day long cycles, so my Ovulation day fluctuates and my LP is 13 days vs. 14.

My DH and I started TTC #4 last summer and I was amazed at how much I learned about my body by reading TCOYF. Another really good place is Trying to conceive dot com. Huge support base and loads of information.

I listed some other really useful sites that can help you. Good luck!

Charting didn't work well for me either. My temps were up and down and not doing what it should. I only do OPK's now. The doctor told me to not worry about doing the charting and only do the OPK's. The OPK instructions will tell you when to start testing based on your usual cycle. I use Clear Blue Easy, but the stores do have their generic brand too. I didn't like the generics as well, but they are cheaper. Good luck.

Congrats on taking that step!

I use www.mymonthlycycles.com to keep track of my cycle days and symptoms. I typically use an ovulation predictor kit to figure out when my most fertile days are and plan accordingly.

Many women swear by charting their temps, but it can be tricky in predicting fertile days and offering insight, especially if done incorrectly. I recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" for a better understanding of how the whole process work.

The online forum www.twoweekwait.com has a great community that can answer your specific questions on charting. I've learned so much there!

Best of luck!

fertilityfriend.com is a good site

but-this is the tried and true method I know--
you are most fertile on days 14-18 of your cycle.
when you start your next cycle, beginning with the first day-start counting.
day 1-is the first day your period shows up, etc

I got pg on day 14 or 18 of my cycle & our baby is due in less than 3 weeks
good luck!!

I have been given my dates muddled and had unprotected intercourse for the time of my fertile time yet had all the indications of a era drawing close only such as you describe. element is it in no way confirmed and while i eventually took a preg attempt it shown I had joined the Pudding club! Take a attempt in the experience that your era does not take place the next day in step with danger?
