Pulling out any kind of gun and aiming at a cop isn't very bright.
going to jail should be the least of your worries

Yes. That constitutes assault on an officer. The officer has no idea what liquid is in the squirt pistol at the time so it's up to the officer's belief as to the danger. Their belief will dictate their immediate actions. You could get seriously hurt. If I didn't know you and you pulled a stunt like that I would act on the presumption that the water pistol contained acid. At the minimum you would be looking at assault.
An officer is not required to determine what's in the pistol before acting. This would constitute an unreasonable safety risk to the officer.
Throwing or squirting fluids on anyone is considered an assault crime at minimum.

I would not want to risk that. A lot of squirt guns look like actual guns and then if it did not look like an actual gun and you did squirt him I guess he could charge you with assault or. Showing disrespect to an officer of the law.

I don't want to go to jail for ANY REASON. And yes, a cop can arrest you for squirting a water gun at him. YOU try it and tell US what the charges are.

Ha, they'd put you in jail for squirting a cop dog with water!! But it would just be overnight, at the most.

If you use a squirt gun that looks real, they might give you a ticket, but if you do it almost all the time, like, for example, 5 times you might go to jail or settle it in court. it's a criminal offence, even though you didn't mean it.

oh yeah and you would be lucky that you would not end up dead cause they might think it is a real gun in certain circumstances...I say put down the squirt gun...at the very least you could be locked up for assualt on a police officer...not good!

Probably not, but you could get shot with a real gun for pointing anything that resembles a gun at a cop.

Just to let you know, the police have gotten pretty trigger happy lately, so you may not even get to serve jail time, but end up 6 feet under....
