The death penalty is a major issue and, in my view, is the real answer to how to deal with those of the human race who should be removed from it. In this category I include international criminals like Saddam and our own domestic murderers like Ian Brady and Ian Huntley.
However, there is, as you know, much opposition to it from the liberals. The influence comes from the middle ground and thus it needs to be handled properly.
To see such an undisciplined scene as existed at Saddam's execution is repugnant even to me because, whatever other thoughts you have, human life is precious and the judicial removal of it by execution needs to be done in a way that dignifies those responsible for administering it. What we saw on the grainy images was a public lynching and that cannot be right.

Even his cowardly murderers had to accept he was the only man in the room with dignity and was a brave man.
The USA military spokesman stated he acted with dignity always in their custody for the past 3 years.
This was just another case of political murder and the USA as usual got someone else to do their dirty work.
It was a kangaroo court judged by his political enemies with the result decided long before the trail in collusion with the USA.
His ghost and supporters will make all of the USA henchmen regret the day.
Although the BBC and CNN will never report it, the majority of Iraqi's wish he were back as their President they had water, electricity, food, a job and had self respect, they have been reduced to beggars by the wonderfull coalition who came to free them or was it to steal their oil?

I'll take Genocial Maniac for $600.
I don't feel bad. But, I have to admit, it was kinda weird watching video taped footage of him just before the hanging took place.

Yes, complete and utter bastard, three hearty cheers all round that he got what was coming to him. Problem though - there are far worse bastards than he, that the west consider to be jolly good chaps and staunch allies! And how about Robert Mugabe, why aren't we storming in to string him up? etc ad nauseum. If Blair/Bush set themselves up as the world police, they ought at least to be impartial about it!!

I think Saddam was a man like any other, aside from the fact that he killed many people. He probably functioned the same way bush would, after all they both probably just did what they thought was right. So how can we call him evil.

He should have been put up against a wall and "stoned to death" by the relatives of all the innocent people of Iraq that he killed.
