What do I do to water proof?
It poured last night and our back yard flooded which sent water pouring in under the back door. I need to get it weather proofed brfore the next storm. Also we discovered cracks between the blocks in the wall that let water in the house, how do I seal these???

They make the stuff called, liquid mortar, it comes in a tube like caulking, you just have to squeeze the caulking gun trigger and it will seal up the wall, also, weather stripping for the doors will help with the water seaping in. I live in Arizona too, and it is sometimes hard to be prepared for the storms.

You may have negative pitch - if the ground slopes toward your house you need to build it up so it slopes away from the house. that will fix most problems. You can get waterproof patching cement for the cracks. It does work but it also has to be renewed every few years. Don't bother with waterproof paint - it doesn't work well and does not last.
