There is nothing wrong with "downfall", it is a perfectly good word. If you want some approximate synonyms try "ruin", "perdition", "doom", "wreck", "cataclysm" "failure", "collapse". there are many more.

collapse...breakdown...demise...some of the choices u can use to replace "downfall"
or may be plummeted

decline, descent, corruption are all good, but why do you think downfall wouldn't be fine it sounds smart to me.
