Most pet stores with take healthy fish (even if you didn't buy them from there) some stores may give you some store credit back in exchange.

Gouramis are a semi-aggressive fish, they can also be a nasty fin nipper. If you are wanting to keep the gouramis you should put them in a different tank with other semi-aggressive fish. They usually stay at the top of the tank that is their territory so putting them with other semi-aggressive fish that like the middle or bottom of the thank should work. FYI a book might say something but it doesn't mean that the fish read it, there are exceptions to every rule. As for if petsmart takes back fish you would have to call and ask but i don't think they do.
Good luck and have a Happy New Year

Dwarf gouramis usually are not aggressive at all. However, the ones sold in stores are usually males and they can be aggressive with each other. How big is your tank? If your tank is too small, that could be increasing the aggressivity. 3 dwarf gouramis would need a 15 gallons tank, not including the other fish.

If they are being aggressive, bring them back to petsmart, they will take them back.

They should be compatible, it's not an exact science. EAch fish is different, and some are just ornery.

Yes, better move your gouramis to another tank. Used to have gouramis with other small peaceful fish. In a week's time, almost half my fish stock died due to gourami harassing, fin-nipping, and tail-biting. Now each gourami has a separate tank, and all my peaceful stock are in a tank exclusively their own.

You can ask petsmart if they will take them back. Tell them that they are incompatible with your existing fish and that they should have warned you that they can be aggressive when you bought them.

In the future make sure to research the fish before you buy them so you don't run into this situation again.

Give them to someonne else. I don't think Petsmart takes fish back. or get a new tank for them.

You could always call up the store and see what they say.
