S.H.I.E.L.D. field operatives are some of the most highly trained agents in the world. They are selected by the Executive Board of wnhich nomembers are known. They are trained by various agencies throughout the world by governement agencies from different countries.
S.H.I.E.L.D. only selects the top recruits in various classes for membership, and conducts their own training in addition to what eac agen received in the field from their origin.
Examples: Cap. America, Kitty Pryde, Hellstorm, and Nick Fury all had prior experience before joining the team.
