I am an american looking to open a small bar in amsterdam, near the red light district. Those small shops where people live upstairs really appeal to me. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me who would I talk to or where would I go to inquire about one? Also, on average, how much rent is a month. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! -Dan

http://www.de-bar.com/ this is a link to the international bartending school in amsterdam, you could go there and ask them about what it is you need to get started inamsterdam, i am sure they can help you out.

i do know you can't just open a shop here in holland, you need to leagaly have some papers in order for immegration and such, and that didn't become any easier these days, you must take a dutch class, they want you to learn dutch and know about our county check out www.ind.nl for all you need on imigration/emigration to holland

renting a house in downtown amsterdam will set you back at least about 1000 to 1500 a month, it aint cheap to live in the hippest town of europe hahahaha,

good luck with it all and if you opening up, let me know i will come and get a drink
