Hi, people are all different. I think human beings are very adaptive maybe some more than others to an extent but overall adaptive. I think that we have a common understanding. I think even though you two are different cultures and lived in different environments you can relate to him about anything because you can give your own opinions and experiences on something and so can he. Wouldn't the world be a boring place if we all were the same. Difference is a good way to find a common ground least you have a variety to talk about.

Hispanics and whites marry quite often. However, the culture difference shows up at family get togethers. Hispanics are very family oriented and let their children receive a lot of attention during adult conversations. This annoys the white American grandmother who thinks children should be seen and not heard at family get togethers. You often mix Protestants and Catholics with these two cultures and that has already gone through a Reformation. In Texas whether black or hispanic we walk on tip toes trying not to step on their toes.

City and Country will last longer than two different cultures. However, these marriages do work if the in-laws stay away.

It sounds like you are relating to each other already, or you wouldn't be asking this question. Geographic origins and ethnic make- up should not be a problem unless you make it one. Together, as a team you have twice as much culture as most other couples, so you have a lot more to share. Doesn't sound like a problem to me. Sounds like a fascinating opportunity.
