I find that interesting as well since most of it is owned by billionaires, and people like that are generally not Liberal!
I guess Fox isn't Biased, but that is OK, even when they LIE, Limbaugh and Coulter aren't biased. The Manchester Union Leader, the largest newspaper in my state isn't biased either!
Media bias,, as used by the conservatives, is anyone who disagrees with them, or even wants to tell the truth! That isn't biased! They would be if they listened to right wing spin!

Because it's pretty easy to see when you read editorials in the NY Times and/or LA Times what the political leanings are. Rarely, if ever, are any of the editorials conservative in nature.
And yet, circulation is down, especially at the LA Times. About once every couple of weeks, they have a guy out in front of the building where I work giving away free copies (which I refuse).
As for truth, maybe you should ask Dan Rather that question.
Is it any wonder the incredible growth in viewer ratings Fox News has experienced over the last several years, versus the 'big three'? Why do you suppose that is? Do you think everyone who watches Fox News is dumb? Or is it that they offer a different viewpoint?
I take the 2004 elections as a case in point. Fox's reporting was generally neutral in my view, where it was clear the major networks (CNN also) had almost a somber tone to their reporting when Bush had won re-election. And that's not bias?

For the people who think that Fox News isn't biased, check out some of the internal Fox News memo that have been leaked, then tell me that they're not biased. It is clear that they lean very far to the right, the voice of the conservative propaganda machine.
Also, the media has a right-wing bias in recent years. More conservatives have been invited as guests, as pundits, guest commentators in recent years by a big margin over progressives. The media is simply run by huge corporations, often the same one over several different networks, shows, newspapers, etc. and has shifted far to the right.

Or maybe it's because they know either firsthand or through close relatives/friends how biased the media can be?
When someone I am very close to was in Iraq, he and his squad had just saved a hotel from insurgents. The reporters came out after the fighting was over to report how the "Iraqis had massacred American troops in this terrible battle." The fact that no Americans were so much as injured and every insurgent was quite dead didn't seem to make the news. Interesting...

Hate to break this news to you but they are biased. And I base that statement on something I read in Stars & Stripes where our military was polled and an overwhelming majority of them saw the news media as being very biased and to top it all, our military feels that the media hates them. Nobody can prove bias without some form of opinion being interjected, but for me, the poll they mentioned sort of says it all.
Which direction, well, thats subjective but I tend to see the majority of them as not being of a conservative bias. Just my view though.

Let me ask you. Why do you Libs have a problem with Fox News? Not once has Fox ever been proved, or even called down on reporting bogus news, unlike CBS, News Week... That's just naming a few. In my opinion the main stream news is Liberal. You don't hear them slamming Harry Reid for his shady real estate deals, or William Jefferson for his 90k in the freezer. Those are also just a few examples out of many. They never mention the good things our troops are doing in Iraq, or all the progress they've made. Only Fox reports on such matters.

Just the opposite; we have a problem with the lies. THAT'S the bias and that's why we'd prefer to watch Fox who DOES tell the truth--or do you liberals have a problem with the truth? No need to answer; the question is rhetorical. We all know that liberals don't know what the truth is.

All politicians have a problem with the truth.
However, whoever said that the media was always right?

Read Bernard Goldberg's "Bias". He was a respected liberal insider who did stories on 60 minutes - which is the epitome of the left wing media. He says, correctly, that they are not fair. Read it.

"Conservatives" think the media is run by the "left". But it's really controlled by the globalists. Back in the 40's, the government cooked up this program called Project Mockingbird where the CIA hi-jacked the media networks so they can dump people down with lies and propaganda. So not only are liberals deceived, so-called conservatives (the Rush Limbaugh types) who praise FoxNews are also deceived.
