I have a folder with a lot of files to rename and I don't want to sit here and have to right click then rename all of them. Is there a program or way of opening the names of the files in something, then renaming them there, then save? Thanks.

Select all the files in the folder you want to rename (CTRL-A) -> then press F2 -> then type the name.

It will give all the files the same name, but will add a number after.

Click edit, select all, then File, rename. This renames all the files to whatever you want numerically. Try it.

You can write a .vb script to do this. There are free templates at Microsoft's Script Center. The script below might be of use to you. You just take their template and tweak it so it renames things however you like.
