Are there any good ways (medication or otherwise) to decrease a sex drive? Not just for a spur of the moment sort of thing, but in general? I know it's a weird/too much info-type question, but I made a pledge of sexual abstinence, so.. yeah.

I'm 15 and yes, I'm serious.

I'm not very religious. I'm not even a Christian, not that I have anything against Christians. Everyone is entitled to do whatever they want to do in my opinion, but I'd just prefer to abstain.

hi, i think there are alot of things you can do like take up extra activities, putting all that sexual energy to work in another area you will be either tired to even think of that or busy with having fun and enjoying your activity you wont want to have sex. you could help out with a good cause, spend more time with family, or even getting a part time job. your mental thoughts could also have alot to do with sexual appetite..... just a thought after reading some replys, being 15 is a good age to decide on becoming absenance. you have the best years ahead of you. you wouldnt want to be pregnant at the prom or develope a std early in life. RIGHT. NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY YOUR DOING THE RIGHT THING!!!! people that say for you to have sex are probably alot older but not wiser....be safe in the desision you choose. remember your still very young.

darlin you shouldn't make a pledge. you're 15 however and having a high sex drive when you're that age is normal cause your hormones have gone crazy. Just don't sleep with anyone and everyone. That's how you catch things and get a bad reputation. I didn't have sex till I was 18 and I'm 20 now and have a pretty high sex drive and I've only done it with 3 people and they were all my boyfriends. So try not to be promiscuous. Besides sex with someone you love is a lot better than just any old buddy. Hope this helps.

You are exactly right! Along with abstinence (to abstain from), and that you shouldn't touch until you are married. The more people you touch, the more you're connected to them. Even if the relationship is supposedly over- in your mind (sure), in your heart, and inner most being (a long process to get over).

Masturbation...? A healthy sex drive is just that, healthy. It will probably be difficult to get a doctor to give you something to decrease it without a valid medical reason. Meditation might help.

First off a healthy sex drive is nothing to be embarassed about, and secondly the things you have to do to decrease your sex drive are generally unhealthy. LIke eating more, smoking, no exercise. I suggest and I'm not being perverted here but try "relieving" yourself rather than trying to decrease your sex drive.

There's no way to decrease a healthy human's sex drive.

I don't know how old you are, but if you're serious about this, go see a doctor. Maybe he could help you.

Apparently bromide does this - the army used to put it into tea in the British Army to reduce the men's sex drive
