sinusitis. But after 4-5 days, I developed a bad cough and my nose is stopped up. I've been sneezing like crazy and I'm short of breathe. It hurts when I breathe in. I don't think it's sinusitus. Is anyone a nurse that can tell me what this might sound like?

The doctor also has me on anti-biotics which don't seem to be treating my symptoms.

i think you need to go back to the doctor - although your symptome could go along with sinusitis (i've had it many times myself!) an infection can spread into your lungs, so it's good to have it checked out - as well...if you aren't feeling better after this many days on the antibiotic you need to see a doctor - maybe you need a stronger one, or a different family of drugs all together - the sooner the better - get better soon!

What you have is a flu like cold, which is a viral infection. Antibiotics only work on bacterial infections. Take lots of vitamin C and Zinc to boost your immune system.

pain with breathing could be pneumonia, bronchitis or even a rib or pleuritis. you need to call them back and tell them about these new symptoms.
