Ri is partially right but here is more info for you...... Nixon didnt get thrown out he resigned, and Ford is the only President and Vice President to never be voted in to office. He went from Speaker of the house to Vice president to President because of the Nixon scandal. Others have been Voted Vice President and had to step in as President during office, but Ford is the only one not voted into either office.

Right, Nixon's Vice President Agnew got impeached, so Nixon appointed Ford as Vice President then when Nixon got impeached Ford became President and pardoned Nixon.

That's right, he was never elected!

Though Ford said he was pardoning Nixon for the good of the country, I guess you can say the country didn't feel that way because he was thrown out of office by losing the election on exactly that issue!

Ford was not elected, correct, but he wasn't "put in just in case Nixon got thrown (not "threw") out." He replaced Agnew as Vice President after Agnew resigned.

That's right. He was the 1st president to enter in office without being voted since he was the next line for presidency after Nixon resigned.

Right, but he got voted out of office when he ran for re-election against Jimmy Carter. Ford was a good guy, though. A former football player who kept tripping on stuff and banging his head on the tops of doorways. Saturday Night Live used to get a lot of laughs when Chevy Chase impersonated President Ford.
