If you're only talking active and reserve... right now, none of them. The Avengers were pretty much disbanded (again) at the beginning of Civil War. A-Next's active members right now are American Dream, J-2, Bluestreak, Spider-Girl and Sabreclaw. As for past members, Hawk 97 pretty much has them all.
The best Avenger? Cap. Definitely. He's the team's greatest icon, and even though he's completely powerless, he has the presence to be able to command gods (Thor and Hercules).
The worst? Rage. He was a member for about ten minutes, and he lied about his age to be admitted onto the team. He was also the epitomy of lame 90's heroes.
Most popular? Spider-Man. :-) He's a current member, and you've got to admit, he's probably the most popular Avenger ever.

Wikipedia lists over 80 heroes who've been members at one time or another. I'd be surprised if *anyone* knew them all.
Captain America has gotta be the most popular member.
