They're called temples in english and Mandirs in Indian languages. I know this because I am Indian and a Hindu. Yup!

It's called a temple in English, Mandir in Indian and Pura (pooh-rah) in Indonesian. I'm Indonesian and I have a couple of friends who are Hindus.
