HER period.
A woman's cycle is counted starting on the first day of her period. Assuming the average cycle of about 28 days, ovulation occurs on day 14. But sperm have a 2 - 3 day life after ejaculaton into a woman's body, so the fertile period is roughly days 11 - 17.
This is called the rythym method. It's also called MOM for the rest of your life.

Your asking about the rhythm method .The rhytm method is
not exactly the safest practice and there are std's ect to consider
if you want to have premarital sex.Unless of course you are married.Do you intend to wake up each morning without getting
out of bed to monitor your system for atleast a month first trial?
This requires a chart of some kind and thermometer. You have to
take your temperature each morning and chart it down.(I
wonder why they have nothing but pregnancy kits and no
"No pregnancy kits. That would not be a bad idea.) Anways
everyone is different. So accurate temp taking is imperitive.
the time of ovulation typically starts 14 days after you start your cycle.Or when your temp suddenly drops..thats the best time too \get pregnant or try to avoid one .The rhythm method id not reliable. If you don't want to get pregnant don't have sex.

a day or 2 before the period is the safest time, midway between periods is the least safe period as pregnancy is most likely to occur at this time. i must however stress that you would always be at increased risk without proper precautions as sperm can survive in the female body for several days

If I remember correctly from school 30 years ago your safe days are the 18th and the 19th. Ovulation has already happened and her body has rejected the egg.
