It does vary widely. The cheapest that I know of is Chic-fil-a, which only costs $35k to start (they pay for the building). The catch is that you pay them 35% of your GROSS Sales. McD's, BK, etc. will cost $200k+ to start up, but then you pay a lot less percentage of sales. Most restaurants require you to have a high net worth to even be considered. If there are any that you are interested in, just go to their homepage and select "franchise information" to find out their specific requirements.

It depends if you rent or are purchasing the building. Some are 60 - 80 k, some up to a million. Monthly payments depend on how much you finance.

Franchise fees are monthly, usually 4 to 7%.

Typically there is a startup costs of about 100,000-250,000, depending on the franchise. Then you usually pay a monthly franchise fee of some sort, but that depends on which company you franchise with and what programs they have.

Anywhere from 25,000 to 250,000 plus a percentage. Look at the latest issue of Entrepreneur magazine which has a list and cost of all the major ones.

Most of them are very very expensive.

You usually have to pay a franchise fee and then part of your proceeds as well, I think.

It varies, depending on the name and location. You can get direct info on a specific company by typing it in a search field (ie, Arby's, Wendy's).

Best wishes.

Ttypically you need to pay 100-200,00k upfront, then around 8% of the sales, not profit (earnings).
