Oh yeah... I completely lost my marbles, couldn't concentrate on anything, forgot stuff and said silly things too! It does happen to lots of women and is to do with the hormonal changes occuring during pregnancy. I think nature organised it that way so you could put all your mental efforts into the growing foetus and also so people would feel they had to look after you!

I used to be a human phonebook! My husband could tell me a phone number and I'd remember it a month or two later off the top of my head. Now, I don't think I can remember my cell phone number!

I also feel like the biggest klutz in the world! I actually had to buy a new cell phone because I dropped it so many times in the last 3 - 4 months! I had my phone for over a year before that and dropped it maybe 1 time and that was it falling from my purse!

I believe because I know!

That sounds like me. I am a mother of a 4 year old, 2 year old, and a 2 month old. I thought I got dumber too. What it really is, is that you have so much on your mind that common sence isn't that common any more. I mean your dealing with a person that thinks that cheese and peanut butter go together- you are bound to loose your mind. I know I did.

Yes. But I also know it does go away to some degree after the birth of the baby. I feel like a total idiot right now. Just waiting on this little one. Only 20 weeks left. LOL

I personally found that yes i got alot stupider than most chicks did when i was preg. Mine seemed extreme though, like i forgot how to tie my shoelaces, and i put the butter in the oven and the milk in the cupboard and stupid stuff like that. Since having my boy though i've also found that im no longer quick witted and i dont get jokes the first time around anymore and i seem to have no memory... And that was 2 years ago that i had my son... God help me, lol

Last night I took a glass out of the cupboard, set it down, put ice in a tea cup, then got very confused over why there wasn't any ice in my water glass.

And then did something equally stupid a little bit later, but I can't for the life of me remember now what that was.

So, yeah, I'd say it's a real phenomenon.

It happened to me during both of my pregnancies. I'm American, but live in a foreign country and speak a second language on a daily basis. While pregnant I had such a hard time remembering the words, getting the sentences out. It eventually goes away...or maybe I just got so busy taking care of my kids that I...uh...forgot about it. :-)

No not really. If you felt that way it was probably due to a
increase in certain hormone levels or decrease.(wich may be
testresone related) Most people experience a sensitivity.
Some use terms like"a pregnant womens glow" When your pregnant all your hormones go haywire from what your used to.
Many women most likely gain a sensitivity. This should not affect
your brain so much however ,unless your letting it.
