It was on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. central time. I'm totally hooked and looking for people who like the show. It's about a guy who works in the Miami Dade police dept as a blood spatter analyst who's also a serial killer, but he was raised by a foster cop dad who taught him a conscious in the form of a code... how to use his drive to kill for good by only killing bad people, usually people who hurt kids. I think this is the best show on TV! It's based on a novel by Jeff Lindsay called "Darkly Dreaming Dexter." I also read the second novel called "Dearly Devoted Dexter." The plot is different in the books, but the main character is so funny and likeable. Anyone else watch this show or read these books?

I like the show Dexter. It is like Shakespeare's Twelfth Night where Viola is a working woman around the house, while she disguises herself as a man to fit in a gentlemen's club. Except, Dexter, in which he is a guy, is a serial murderer and a forensic detective or a blood splatter analyst. I like the show because it is completely different from that the other shows like Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, or Studio 60. Dexter also has a Robin Hood quality to him. He does horrible things for the goodness of other people. Did you see the last episode? It surprised me that the Ice-Truck killer ended up being his long lost brother....in which was dating Dexter's sister Debra (which she was Emily Rose from the Exorcism of Emily Rose). The last two episodes became climatic to me because I was waiting for her to realize that her boyfriend was the Ice-Truck Killer. I would say that it's kind of funny, but not too comic. I wonder if Rita would still love him despite of him being a serial killer or will Dexter try to make a good cover-up. I hope he does not kill Rita or I will kill him myself, not really because I am too gentle.

I like the concept, but I kinda was disappointed in it.

I don't know. I think I was expecting someone more on the level as Will Graham, the guy who captured Dr. Lektor as played by William Peterson in the original Red Dragon movie called Manhunter.

Instead, the actor who plays Dexter just seems to trudge along without any real idea of what to do.

I do like the way he can't seem to relate to anyone else on the show.

We are totally hooked on Dexter at our house. The acting is great and the writing is fantastic. Yes, it's a little odd to root for the good guy that turns out to be a serial killer - but the show is riveting.

I've never read the books, but Dexter is a great show. Wonderful plotline for the first season - everything was well-connected. Can't wait to see what they do with season 2.

Yes I did! and it was so freaking scary! I almost lost my voice screaming! But I wouldn't say the person is likable, unless I was a bad guy and he was torturing me...
