Why is it that because I shave my head people automatically assume I'm racist? I'm a 26 year old educated white man who shaves his head. I don't do it for political reasons, I don't give a damn about S.H.A.R.P's (Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice), hell I just shave it because it's simple, easy, and cheap. What about that makes people stereotype myself and others like me as a racist?

The truth is the skinhead movement started with people like you -working class individuals who kept their hair short for practical purposes. It just turned out working class English people tend to hold far right views and like to get in fights.

I'm sorry your hair cut gets you in trouble. I also keep my hair short, because I don't like hair scratching my face. Not sure why someone would mistake you for a skinhead if your attire is normal otherwise. Jeez, do they go around accusing Lucemia patients of being neo-nazis. "We did mean to give him a treat from the Make a Wish foundation, but once we laid eyes on little HItler over there, we decided the nazi bastard didn't deserve to go to Disney land."

BTW, am I the only one who thinks SHARPS are gay. I mean if you're against racial prejudice, why dress in a manner assosciated with neo-fascists. The fashion is just not that cool, that you need to be sending that message iif you not only disagree with it, but are against it actively. That's like dressing up as a soviet honor guard and calling yourself Soviet HOnor Guards Against Communism and into Big Ol' Furry Hats. Don't be retarded, or I reserve the right to beat you just for being stupid.

in lots of areas the skinhead look is positive and it truly is merely an selection for a haircut. In others, the skinhead look is linked with the gay scene. I stay in Burslem (Stoke on Trent) the place the skinhead look is linked with racism and soccer hoolaganism. there are a number of skinheads from the place I stay who might fall into neither catergory nonetheless all the racists and hooligans look to right now get the haircut. Basicly, merely the comparable because of the fact the clothing you place on, your haircut will influence the way human beings categorise you whilst they first meet you. they might later substitute their opinion yet their first effect would be per what that look shows of their very own minds.

Stereotypes whether we like them or not are there and they will continue to be there. Most people are very quick to jump to conclusions and judge a person based on their appearance and whether we like it or not we have probaly all done it. I feel because stereotypes are made, eaten up and glorified it is embedded in peoples minds so when they see that stereotype they get the wrong impression of the person. I feel sad for you but what can you do? If people judge you by your looks are they really worth anything to you. You can either get all worked up about it or just move on. You choose the style you want if people catagorize you that's there problem.

Yeah, I get bugged by that too. Especially because of my skin, hair, and eye color. Some people just have to judge a book by it's cover.
