I would curse at you, but that would get me reported and wouldn't achieve anything. The man was the oldest living President the United States had ever had. And YOU didn't bury him, his family did. There is a certain protocol involved in the death of a former President, it will be observed, thank God, whether some people respected or liked the man or not.

If Mr Ford had passed away at a time of the year that was not around a holiday of any type, this would have been a shorter process. It was the family's wish (and probably his own as well, depending upon his cognitive state in his last days) that people's holiday breaks NOT be interrupted. As I understand it, from a comment made earlier in the week, he was particularly cognizant of the interruptions of family time for those members of the military who would of necessity be involved in these ceremonies.

This President had grew up in Michigan and started his career in Politics in Michigan, he also lives in Alexandria VA during his career serving our nation, but retired in California. This is why there have been numerous services.

Personally, I think we do, but who am I? There wouldn't near this much hoopla if I passed....but again, who am I??

yes we do ,,, but all presidents make their funeral arrangements before they die. they do this when they first take office... i think some of them make it long on purpose to irrate some people???
