There is always a risk of getting pregnant even when you are taking precautions. Judging from what you are saying - you took the pill at 4pm and then that night you got sick at 2am - the pill will have had long enough to absorb into the body.
If this ever happens again - go and see your local pharmacy/doctor and get emergency contraception, which can be used upto 72 hours after unprotected sex - this time it is not an option but this is something that is exactly what it says on the packet - Emergency!
Should you find you are late for your next monthly period - do a simple home test to be on the side of caution. Try not to worry about this as stress can make your period late.
Remember of unsure whether you are safe or not - dont have sex - better safe than sorry, also remember the pill does not stop you contracting sexual transmitted infections. Especially if this was a one night stand then it is important to take extra precautions.
Best of Luck

Its always possible, some people conceive while taking the pill with no problems.
However, if you have diarrhoea, vomiting, or forget a pill, take the next pill at normal time. You also need to use extra contraception for 7 days. It is unlikely after 10 hours that you were able to bring up your pill, and it was probably already absorbed by your body, but for future reference, better be safe than sorry!!

Yes, there is a small risk. One of my friends got pregnant because she'd had a tummy bug and then had sex later on in the week - if you miss one pill you are unprotected for the next few days.
However it is a small risk, especially if you were only sick the once, but you can take the morning after pill up to (I think) 48 hours after having sex - talk to your pharmacist about this.

My daughter was concieved whilst I was on the pill and I wasn't sick or taking any medication. I would say the chances are slim but there is a chance. If you do not want a child and are still within the 72 hours time limit for taking the morning after pill I would go and get it, just to be on the safe side. If not I'm sorry but you'll have to sit it out.

Your pill probably had time to absorb before you got sick. It was 10 hours, which is plenty of time. And if you were in the 1st or 2nd week of your pills, you are less likely to have disrupted your cycle with a missed pill anyway. Of course there is a chance you can be pregnant, there always is with unprotected sex, but I don't think you need to worry that you missed a pill.

It takes around 2-3 hours for the pill to be absorbed by your body, so as long as you took it a few hours before you were sick, you will be fine. Also, missing one pill is highly unlikely to result in pregancy.

You should be ok as long as you took your pill for the next two days as normal and still are.
I have been on the pill for 8 years and i have missed taking it and been sick and still had sex with my partner and never got pregnant till i stopped taking it because we were trying for a baby so you should be ok.

While there is ALWAYS the risk of pregnancy whenever you have sex, regardless of your contraceptive methods, in this case, I would have to say that you are pretty safe.
The chemicals are typically absorbed into the blood stream within 60-90 minutes of ingestion, so your 8-hour window was plenty enough time for the chemicals to be absorbed.

i have 2 little girls that were both conceived while i was taking the pill:)
it is always possible to get pregnant even if you were taking your pill regularly.
Go and see your doctor they will be able to do tests too find out if you are.
The sooner you see the doctor the more choice you have :) Good luck i hope it works out the way you want it too :)
