Go back to school or get your GED once you have finished that find a job and start showing some responsibility... not trying to be negative... You are 20 years old.. it is time to grow up, and the fact that you are asking what you should do shows that you have real character and are trying to make a change in you life. That's a good thing. But first things first go back to school or get your GED and then maybe on to college. You will make more money if you do. Do not listen to all the negative jerks on this forum... Best of luck.

First off you need to check into getting your GED. Then you have a better chance on getting a good job. Try to get a job at McDonalds, they don't care if you finished high school or not. At least that would be a start while you are studying for your GED. Maybe some others might have some better ideas for an answer. Good Luck.

I think it would be best if you can find a way to get yourself back in school. Many of the jobs out there you really do need at least a High School diploma. I think you need to get over thinking about what others think of you. Just be yourself. It really doesn't matter what others think about you. What matters is that you accomplish something in your life. You need to set goals. You can set big goals and then smaller goals you need acheive in order to one day acheive your big goal. You could also start out trying to get a job at places like McDonalds, Burger King, Grocery Stores and so on. Usually with those stores you don't need a High School Diploma, but with other really good jobs you do. I guess you just have to think about whether you really want to be stuck working at those jobs all your life or is it better to just go back to school and ignore what others think about you? After all, if you think about it what's most important? I think a good education is more important. I hope this helps. I hope you can get your life focused on what is important and can eventually find a good job. I am sure you can do it! God bless! Your friend ;) Violet

Pick up your H.S. diploma, take some community college classes and look at a 2 year degree you might find interesting. Folks at college will care less if you find boys or girls interesting. So get over that part. Clean yourself up. You are young and the future may hold a lot for you.
The retail industry (restaurants or retail stores) can offer you simple lower paying jobs for the short term. With a degree you will double your potential and your income.

It's not too late to go back and complete your GED (high school diploma equivalent). That would be a good start.
Also, if you can get even a minimum-wage level job and really devote yourself to it and learn about the business you may find opportunities there as well.

Canada here - we legalized gay marriages even - I don't care. Anyways - I would recommend that you take ANY job and keep it for a few months to show job stability and reliability (showing up for work etc.). This gives you a bit of reliability and steady experience. Look for a slightly higher paying job - you will find one. But then you have references from 2 employers - you left the first one for better pay. Now look for nite school classes in anything that interests you, online courses or part time schooling. This leads to bigger and better jobs. I was a "bum" for years and follwed this route. Today I have a medical degree in biophsycology. I was the oldest kid in my class but I made it!

what do you WANT to do?
i'd suggest going back to school, start with getting your GED or diploma & start taking classes, exploring what you want to do.
college can be a lot of fun, & you don't have to worry about what people think so much & can start over.

Get your GED before you get older. Then try to take college classes while working to gain employable skills.
