If its an off-the-shelf training programme it may not meet all your specific requirements, but it is a big benefit in time saving, and it has most probably been tried and tested if it is from a reputable company.

If it is one you have designed yourself, then it may be time consuming and you may not get it right first time, so will have to keep amending it and re-evaluating, but it will be specific to the training you are doing, and can be tailored to meet your own needs.

Any kind of training needs to be planned and programmed, so you do need a programme, no matter how you obtain one.
