Okay so I'm doing a debate speech for a Gr. 8 class.
And I was aiming for something to do with school massacres but I don't think I want to do that anymore. :p
And I was thinking something to do with religon?
Any Ideas?
(Keep in mind I go to a CATHOLIC school.)
Or if you have any GREAT debate topics that's be nice.

Well you could talk about the morality of the death penalty. This is especially relevant given the recent execution of Saddam Hussein- the Vatican recently released a statement condemning the use of capital punishment in the wake of Saddam's execution.
You could further expand on this to talk about religion's role in world politics. Should the Vatican intervene in world politics, or leave politics to the politicians.

Try the "what if" scenario.
Pick something that allegedly happened from the bible and throw in a variable.
I love doing that stuff.
