Can the site operator be sued and forced to shut down because its members are posting photos of men who they claim are cheaters and "players"? I'm not defending the players and cheaters, but they can always file suit and claim slander and defamation by having their photos publicly posted on a website that purports to warn women about men who cheat. Is what this site doing legal?

The point I'm trying to make is say a woman has a grudge against a guy and decided to be a spiteful b***h, so she posts his photo in this site in a disgusting attempt to slander him, when she is really the one with issues. What's to stop frivolous activity like this? Not all guys are scum, and some women are capable of going to such extremes...trust me.

One can even argue that this website acts as a mouthpiece for liberal feminazis hell-bent on damaging the image of many men, discounting the fact that they may be cheaters.

This is the internet at its worst. A bitter ex can accuse you of anything an you have no recourse? I am appalled.

I saw something on TV about this and I believe there is a disclaimer that the opinions are of the posters and not the site operator. However, I do believe that the site operator is currently being sued...so I guess we will see. If the information can be proven to be true, the person who posted the information and the site operator cannot sue for slander or defamation because for slander or defamation to occur a lie or untruth has to be told.

They have a pretty detailed 'terms of use' statement that people are supposed to agree to in order to be on the site including that users not post anything inaccurate, offensive, abusive, etc. etc. etc. You can check out the link below for all the details. But by posting this, they are protecting themselves from liability, which I'm sure they covered off well enough before the site even went live. Honestly, I don't see this site as being any different than someone blogging on another site, webspace, t.v./radio/other media or whatever about their relationship gone bad or who wronged them last. Right or wrong? Well that's for another question.
BTW - As a liberal chick who believes in equal rights and opportunities, when I first heard about this site my first reaction was the same as the guys above - I would love to see a dontdatehimdude site - if I wasn't technologically challenged, I'd already have it up and running! Turnabout is fair play!!

Well, I've seen some of the debate over this site on Dr. Phil.
The gentleman in question who is suing the site is doing so because lies had been posted about his sexuality and, in spite of his requests, the site owner refuses to remove them and continues to defend the anonymity of the poster in question.
Frankly, I think she's a little too smug in her position that it's "not her responsibility". It's a one sided forum and even though men can now post in response, the damage is already done. It's almost like a site where you are labelled as 'guilty' with no proof, but you have to try to defend your innocence. And the site owner claims it's not for profit. Right.

Yes. It's legal.
Men have to tried to sue to no avail.
I just wish there was a DoNotDateHerDude.com
Photos are the intellectual property of the person who took the photo and not the subject of the photo. The person in the photo has no legal right to royalties.
His only legal recourse would be to sue the poster for defamation of character, if he can prove that is what is occurring.

Hmm. Seems like the site might be a party in a suit alleging libel for publishing harmful false statements. Of course, if the statements are true, the guys wouldn't have a case. The other issue might be the use of their image without their consent, particularly for financial enterprise.

Although you were only married in town hall and without wedding ceremony, you are lawfully married and registered as the husband of your wife. Therefore if you are divorcing her a year or two from now you are still liable to do it legally. When you go to vegas to renew your vow tell the them that you both actually are married to each other. That way you you don't have to pay for another marriage certificate.

Why doesn't someone (and maybe the already have) set up a site for men to do the same thing? Us men can have just a good a time of it as you women do. Let's see how you like it.
It's always funny to me how men are always looked at as being jerks, cheaters, lazy, etc...Women can come down on men all they want and it's okay...but just let a man come down on women, and suddenly he's the jerk. Y'all women all want to stick together, but just who do you think your man is cheating with? Think women don't cheat? Wrong.

No. I saw a thing about it on TV. The creator is not liable for what it's users put on their site because the creators themselves are not putting it on there, they are just providing a forum. Same as with Yahoo Answers. they are not responsible when people on here talk about killing the President and such.

I would say that the website could be forced legally to remove a guys picture, since that guy did not give permission for the site to post his picture, and is receiving no royalties for it.
