Over a liter of water sounds like an awful lot. I am also really thirsty while pregnant, and my doctor told me it was because the baby needs more fluids for blood production and amniotic fluid, but if you are drinking 4 liters in one night, I would talk to your doctor about it.
Good luck!

Could be a number of things. Could be the onset of gestational diabetes or could just be your body NEEDING more water. I use to drink a 48oz juicy juice apple juice every morning...I was that thirsty....Pregnancy makes you weird lol. If you are worried about it though call your doc and ask :)

See your doctor IMMEDIATELY.

Excessive thirst, particularly if it's combined with frequent urination, is a distinct sign of diabetes. It is entirely possible to hae gestational diabetes when you've never had any signs of it it the pst. However, gestational diabetes is frequently also a precursor to TYpe II diabetes.

If you can't see your own doctor in the next day, get to an ER. Don't play games with this. It's not worth it for you or for the baby.

Please do go have your doctor do a sugar test for gestational diabetes -- excessive thirst is one of the symptoms, ok?

I feel for you, though -- my wife was often thirsty too (without having GD), but since her bladder was being pressed on by the baby, drinking made her pee frequently. By the 8th month, pretty much her entire day consisted of have a drink, go pee, have a drink, go pee... :) Hang in there.

its totally normal. i'm 29 weeks and fell like i could drink all day. its the hormones and also if you live where its cold, the dryness of having the heat on also can cause you to be more thirsty. try keeping a water bottle near by and sip from that. good luck!!

Go see your doctor. It could be a sign of gestational diabetes. Just be on the safe side and get it checked, you don't want to mess with that.

Because.......to put it in easier terms.....Its Drying You out!!!!!! I remember those days. Its perfectly normal and your doctor would encourage you to drink alot as long as its water..... Not too much soda(Altough caffeine doesn't hurt the baby it does hurt u trust me!!!!)

Maybe you have gestational diabetes. Excess thirst is a sign of diabetes. It's called polydipsia.
