It depends on the dress. I wore a strapless dress once that came with optional spaghetti straps that you could sew on if you wanted, or make it into a halter. However, personally I wouldn't suggest adding a full piece of fabric as a strap unless you have a VERY good tailor, because it might end up looking obvious and tacky. Depending on the dress, a spaghetti strap in the right matching shade could work.

Sure it is.. my opinion, dont sew on straps but rather have eye hooks sewn to the inside of the dress and the straps so you can have the option of putting the straps on or taking them off of it doesnt look right...

Sure, but you should find yourself a very good trustworthy seamstress. I have done it for a bridesmaid dress, and it worked out perfectly.

its not impossible . but i don't know how good it would look. plus it would probably be a little hard to do not impossible but hard.
