Intestinal pin worms only appear during the night when it is dark. Anal itching is the first clue or symptom. If you think you have them, go see your doctor. THere is oral medication, which is based on weight, that can be taken to get rid of them. If you have them you'll need to boil all your bed clothing and towels and washcloths, as they can be on them and you will be reinfected. In the meantime stay out of pools and hottubs...which is where many people get them. If you are married or have children, they will need to take the meds too.

Depends on what type of worms. If you have small worms such as pin worms then you may have an itchy bottom and may see them when you wipe. However I have had clients (I am a colon hydrotherapist) who are infested with worms but who had no noticeable symptoms at all. You can have your stools tested for parasites by a lab, go to your doctor or get a herbal remedy for parasites from a health food store.

'i recently went the toilet an i think i may have worms'

Why do you think you have worms? Any other symptoms/how long?

Symptoms of intestinal worm infestation can have quite an insidious onset, with loss of appetite, bloating, constipation/diarrhoea, weight loss, malaise, etc.

Bottom line, best way to know is to have a simple stool test.

If you have worms, you will get a really itchy bottom at night. 3 weeks ago my young son had had to be treated for worms, he was having problems sleeping because of the itching.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse. You may have itching in the anal area, you may eat more than usual and feel nauseous, They will also evacuate via the anus. If you check every morning before you get out of bed you may even see them they are small and white. I had them as a child. You Dr will give you something to kill them. Cut out the sugar

itchy bum, also if you look carefully you will be able to see them crawling around, a sign of being hungry isnt always present though, but get to a doctor, he will give you 2 tablets one for that day and one for a few weeks after to make sure they are gone, if you do think you have them, clean your hands every time you have been to the loo, and extra times to be even more careful, wash your bedding too, and make sure your underwear is put straight in the wash! there are many ways to have have caught them, so dont think its because you are dirty (i thought that when i had them)! good luck

have a close look before treatiment, which is very simple,
and avaliable over the counter at the chemist
you should feel very itchy around the anus after going to the toilet if you have them good luck

You'll be very hungry and have an itchy bum, especially at night. You can also see segments in the loo often.
