The program has won 21 SEC titles and a total of 12 national championships: in 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1941, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, and 1992.
There are also five additional years in which the NCAA's official record book recognizes the Crimson Tide as national champion: 1945, 1962, 1966, 1975, and 1977. So the NCAA says they actually have 17 National Championships.
They were SEC champions in 1933 1934 1937 1945 1953 1961 1964 1965 1966 1971 1972 1973 1974 1975 1977 1978 1979 1981 1989 1992 1999
The closest to them is Tennessee with 13.
