As one can see many people do this anyway... except that they don't think, maybe they don't know how to..or simply forget to, not a habit......

I had a friend who tried this for a school psychology project. He spent the whole day in school with a blindfold and earplugs. He had a sighted guide, and went to all of his classes (although I don't know if he got much out of them that day). At lunch time, his girlfriend took him out to get some fast food, and he threw up in the car on the way there. He did this because he was disoriented and dizzy due to the lack of orientation/sensory deprivation, and the motion of the car was just too much for him to handle.
I suggest that if you do this, you should expect to have a mellow day. Ask a sighted friend to help you out if you want to go anywhere. And, try to do some of your typical everyday tasks. I'm sure some things would be easier for you than you think they would be. But, please remember that the simulation experience will NEVER make you understand what it is like to be blind and deaf. People who are blind and deaf go through a great deal of training and rehab to become as independent as possible. They have acquired a number of skills to deal with their disabilities that sighted and hearing people do not have. Plus, psychologically, you know you have the option of removing the devices to make yourself "normal" again. People with disabilities do not have this option. Think about that!

Then that would be either :
A) A great waste of a day.
B) A good opportunity to feel what it's like to be blind and deaf.
C) A good time to think and to sharpen your sense of touch.
You choose what you want it to be. =)

You'd realize that we're smart apes living on a small planet and our purpose in life is to survive and effectively reproduce.
