I just asked this question; they said try DISHwashing powder. It worked for me!

Put a few drops of Vanilla extract in a small, empty, butter/margarine tub. poke holes in the lid. Place the jeans beside the bowl. Place a bag or box over the bowl and jeans over night. By the morning the turpentine smell should be out of the jeans.

Try some lemon Juice in the wash water..
